The Knapsack

From the time we awaken, we are confronted with both internal and external negativity. We spill the coffee. We curse the driver who cut us off in the morning commute. We complain about the line waiting for gas. Our jobs...forget about it! The traffic is miserable driving home.

Picture when you first wake and dress, that you put an empty knapsack on your back. It doesn't even feel like it is there. Now each one of the negative events can be looked as as bricks that you choose to pick up and place in your knapsack. By the end of the day your back is killing you and you can barely move. Now you get home. Do you take off the knapsack or unload the bricks? NO! You rehash the days events which actually adds more bricks. The next morning you sling the knapsack on your back and off you go.

STOP! You have a choice. By acting and thinking positively, seeking out what is good-you remove the bricks. When you get home, do pleasurable and positive things and take off the knapsack.

Better yet, allow a higher power to carry your knapsack in the future. Absolutely never put bricks in someone's path or slip them into their knapsack.
